Is having a car any good if you do not have a license to drive it? It’s the same with your Passport and VISA. If passport is your car then VISA is the license to travel out of your country of residence. By definition:

“A visa (from the Latin charta visa, meaning "paper which has been seen") is a conditional authorization granted by a country (typically to a foreigner) to enter and temporarily remain within, or to leave that country.”

A Visa typically describes:

  • Limits on the duration of Foreigner’s stay
  • Territory within the country they may enter
  • The dates they may enter
  • And/or the no. of permitted visits

However, in each instance, a visa is subject to entry permission by an immigration official at the time of actual entry and can be revoked at any time. (For more information on Visa, you may visit https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Visa_(document) )

Embassy / Consulate / High Commission Jurisdiction : For countries having multiple Consulates in India apart from the National Capital ‘Delhi’, collection of Visa applications is generally divided amongst them to cater to the states in near vicinity of the consulate / high commission. Otherwise, pan India applicants would have to send all visa applications to Embassy / High Commission / Consulate located in Delhi only.
